2.1 lakh to write Karnataka II PU supplementary exam from today

BENGALURU: Around 2.1 lakh students will appear for the II PU supplementary exam starting on Monday at 305 centres across the state. The examination will end on September 19.

Of the 2,12,652 students enrolled – boys: 1,29,975, girls: 82,677 – the highest number is for arts (90,615), followed by commerce (74,476) and science (47,561).

Those infected with Covid-19 will be allowed to take the exam at special Covid care centres, but no student with positive status has approached the authorities so far. The Covid centres will have health workers as invigilators in PPEs along with PU department officials. The department of PU education said the deputy director of pre-university education will make arrangements for students to reach the centres.

Students from containment zones will take the exam in separate rooms at the test centres. DPUE has not received request from students to consider themselves as freshers as they were unable to appear for the English exam when it was held in June. Around 62% students passed in the II PU exam, leaving 2.5 lakh student to clear it. Only 41% of the arts stream students had passed.
