In this regard the MC officials also conducted a meeting with school representatives on Friday. Almost 50 schools participated in the meeting that was held at Bachat Bhawan.
The officials explained the schools about concept of WOW and how they can participate in the drive. The schools will have to construct compost pits in the school and green waste generated in the schools must be processed within school premises . Along with this, students should be educated about the composting process and encourage them to adopt it at their homes. The school offices should try and declare them plastic free.
The schools should promote crafts out of waste material and ensure activities based on this. They can make videos to show how crafts can be made out of waste, drawing competitions, debates and discussions on 3Rs, poem writing and essay competition etc.
The schools can post the activities at their social media pages and tag MCL with their school names in subject.
