On Friday, as part of an Open Day webinar organised by the admission branch of DU, dean of student welfare, Rajeev Gupta, reiterated that the university’s admissions were completely online and that “the purpose behind this was to reduce footfall on college campuses.”
“DU has been trying to move the admissions process online for many years. Last year, we tested ourselves by holding an online entrance test. So this year, we are more confident. Plus due to the pandemic, we suggest that the applicants avoid going to the colleges as they won’t be allowed entry. All the queries will be answered on the website and they can always call and mail the colleges,” he said.
Shobha Bagai, dean, DU admission, also advised applicants to not travel to Delhi or visit the colleges. “All the queries will be answered online as DU and individual colleges have kept their grievance and redressal online. Applicants can mail or call them and get their queries cleared. For other details, they can check their dashboard.”
She added that even if students reach the colleges, they would not be allowed entry. “They should take their time but also make sure they finish the admission procedure within the required period,” she said.
