Sawant, who is also the state education minister, said that the decisions will also depend on the situation of Covid cases in Goa at the time.
In the meantime, students of Class X and XII can voluntarily go to schools and to seek guidance from their teachers as per the guidelines mentioned in Unlock 4, he Sawant.
The CM held a virtual meeting with education stakeholders to discuss their views on school reopening and also to discuss implementation of the New Education Policy, 2021 in Goa.
ADEIs of all the talukas and representatives of different school associations attended the meet online.
“Decision regarding reopening of schools, especially Class X and XII will be taken only after October 2 in consultation with experts and considering the pandemic situation. Internet connectivity is still an issue for students in villages, the government will address this as soon as possible,” Sawant said
The CM also appealed to the stakeholders and representatives to study the New Education Policy and offer their suggestions to the state task force committees formed.
“Every teacher, headmaster and PTA member should study the policy and give their valuable inputs to the task force committees,” he said.
