HYDERABAD: The Brownfield private universities given nod in the state will implement rule of reservation to the extent of existing course and classes, while the greenfield private universities will not have such provision, the decision will rest with the managements, education minister P Sabita Indra Reddy announced in the state assembly on Monday. While the green field universities will not have any fees reimbursement scheme with them but the brown field universities will have this scheme applicable to the existing courses.
During the discussion on The Telangana State Private Universities (Establishment and Regulation, (Amendment) Bill, 2020) introduced in the assembly the minister said that Telangana is 25th state in the country to introduce private universities in the country. “The universities given permission if they are having existing establishments running colleges and courses in a required manner will be considered as brown field universities. The establishments coming newly totally are considered as the greenfield universities” she told the house.
