Odisha girl gets 325 online certificates during lockdown – Times of India

BHUBANESWAR: Making the best use of lockdown Sudhanya Nath, a PhD scholar, has received as many as 317 certificates after joining professional webinars, workshops, training, quiz and various other competitions like painting, singing, meme, handicraft, photography and videography. Many of these events were international and hosted by countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.

“During lockdown when I stayed at home, instead of sitting idle I decided to join some online courses based on my subject animal nutrition. Then I took part in some webinars on different subjects with the sole aim to learn and know about new things,” said 25-year-old Sudhanya, a PhD scholar in the department of animal nutrition at West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences (WBUAFS) in Kolkata.

From childhood, she has interest in extra-curricular activities and also has several hobbies and interests. “Though I always wanted to learn things and pursue my hobbies, due to lack of time and pressure of studies it was not always possible to do so. But during lockdown I wanted to make the most of the free time due to closure of university,” she pointed out.

She also won several competitions like creative writing, videography contest on spreading awareness among the youth about the issues of Covid-19 pandemic and signify a creative solution. Besides, she kept herself busy and stress free with fun events like quiz, meme, handicrafts, cooking, treasure hunt, cracking crosswords and riddles.

“I not only take part in a competition for the sake of getting a certificate but I try my best to win it. For which I have to refer to books, articles and contents on the internet, which gives me an idea about a wide range of subjects,” said Sudhanya.
