The university will start the examination from September 21 because the higher education department has already issued directions to all state public universities to conduct the examination for the final year/semester students between September 20 and October 10.
About 1640 final year PG students have applied to appear the online examination starting from Monday. Students will use their desktop/laptop/smartphone to appear the final examination. Of them, 1225 examinees belong to rural areas and 24 of them are differently abled. The University has made elaborate arrangements for the examination.
University will hold examination for 128 courses of 11 PG programmes. There will be 16 examination days with three sittings per day starting from 10 am onwards. “Students have been exempted from paying the examination fee this time so that they can buy or purchase data card using that amount for appearing that examination,” said Srikant Mohapatra, vice-chancellor of OSOU.
University authorities have asked coordinators of all 70 study centres in Odisha and five regional centres of
OSOU to help the candidates in case they complain about the non-availability of digital device and internet.
Candidates can submit their assignments and projects through the digital mode. Project viva voce will also be conducted by using the online meeting platform after verification of the credentials of the candidates, said the official statement.
Mohapatra said his university is planning to declare the result by October 20 so that the students can take admission in higher educational institutions in and outside Odisha. “Regular examination will be conducted for any leftover students of final year PG programme and for all other students of the university very soon. Results of these examinations will be declared before December 31,” he added.
