The theory exams would be of two hours during which students would solve 50 per cent of the question paper and they will also take care that they have solved the question paper of 50 per cent marks of total or maximum marks.
The university authorities said that keeping in view the covid19-pandemic the University is trying to adopt such mode that the students are able to solve the papers while staying at home only. The necessary guidelines regarding this would be released soon. The instructions regarding the examinations will be uploaded accordingly on the website.
Notably, there are around 78000 exiting students including the main campus of Punjabi University, its neighbourhood campuses and constituent colleges and in the affiliated colleges. The universities authorities claimed that around 70 per cent of the students hail from rural Punjab.
Jaswinder Singh Khattar, Examination Controller Punjabi University said, “The date-sheet for the examination will be released soon and it is clear that we would need around the first week of October this year to get conducted the examination. We are working further on the modalities over this matter. The date for the online practical examination will be announced soon as these will have to get completed by August 19.”
Sources revealed that the university is holding an online meeting on Thursday morning to discuss more on this issue. The university authorities are planning to give time to the students for downloading of question papers and then uploading their answer-sheets or they can submit in the nearby university colleges or the students can also speed post their answer-sheets in case of absence of any above said facility.
